Meditation art for sacred space. Ladders to the Moon is in the abstract Imaginary Landscape series known as Ladders of Light. These southwest landscapes with mountains and vast blue skies are depictions of transcendental experiences. Many of them, like this one, contain a green chair levitating in that sky. The green chair first materialized after a powerful meditation right before I moved to Santa Fe in 1986.
Vyasa described prapti, one of the siddhis or supernormal natural human powers, as "the ability to touch the moon with your fingertips." In this pastel painting I've created lots of ladders leading up to the moon to make this easier.
