Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara Print
Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara print "Om mani padme Hung" Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (Chinrezig) Robert Branaman. Three color plate etching. Limited edition of 10. 15" x 11". Tibetan Buddhism.
Robert Branaman is a master of traditional print-making techniques. I'm honored to offer his spiritual art here. His Tibetan Buddhist deities are joyful visual delights. Bob left San Francisco in the '60s, moving to Big Sur where he became a seminal force of what evolved into the hippie scene there. His work includes etchings, paintings, films, books, and limited edition digital/traditional prints. Bob was one of the innovative artists showing at San Francisco’s legendary Batman Gallery and part of Michael McClure’s play !The Feast! His paintings are prominently featured in Oliver Stone’s film The Doors. In Exploding Eye, A Revisionary History of 1960s American Experimental Cinema, Wheeler W. Dixon describes Branaman’s films as “remarkably tough, kinetic chunks of raw cinematic energy.” Films include Ginsberg (1966) and Goldmouth (1965) starring Lawrence Ferlinghetti. He lives in Santa Monica, CA.
my spiritual practice? i try for Bodhicitta: some deity meditations, etc. involved with Tibetan meditation for over 25 years. i chanted the short Medicine Buddha mantra as i ran the Medicine Buddha through the press...ditto for the rest, as "Om Tare tuTare ture Svaha" for white Tara.
