Vastu, the Yoga of Design

vastu book transcendental home design harmony nature vaastu

Vastu is our planet’s most ancient system of design and architecture from India’s Vedic tradition. Its guidelines are the laws of nature, and it honors the environment. It requires natural materials and beauty. I’ve been doing Vastu consultations for homes, businesses, and gardens in the US and internationally since 1999. For my first Vastu blog post, I thought a quick introduction to this sacred space design knowledge was the right way to start.

My Vastu book Vastu: Transcendental Home Design in Harmony with Nature was published in 2007; it’s currently out of print while I choose a new publisher to keep this world wisdom tradition’s knowledge available. I include a PDF file of the full book with all its color illustrations and diagrams in my Vastu course that you can order through my website. Thee are several levels and packages for my Vastu Course, so the link is to the whole curriculum.

You can also find and purchase hard copies of the original 2007 hardcover book in the usual places such as through Amazon.

I’ve been meaning to create a Transcendence Design blog for years—it is now manifesting. This is my first of many upcoming blog posts on Vedic knowledge for a conscious life of beauty, abundance, and authenticity. There will also be blog posts on other aspects of Vedic knowledge, such as yantras, Ayurveda, Jyotish, yoga, meditation, and Padmini Vidya. I'll write posts on creativity as well, since I am an artist and writer.

A few brief points about my upcoming blog post topics: Yantras are Vedic sacred geometry; they are excellent rectification tools used to correct not only defects in your home and business space, but also challenges in your Jyotish or Vedic astrology chart. Yoga, which means “union,” is not only a system of physical exercises but a many-branched path to enlightement. Authentic meditation and pranayama breathing practices clear stress from your nervous system but also give you the experience of the fourth state of consciousness and bring you to a state of inner stability. Padmini Vidya is knowledge of She who sits on the lotus, Lakshmi. Padmini Vidya is the secret Vedic knowledge of how to gain and enjoy financial prosperity while rooted in spirituality— and how to use that to contribute to the world though both your enlightenment and your philanthropy.

Thank  you for your interest in knowledge that creates a better experience for you and for the planet, and for sharing this blog with your like-minded friends. Sherri Silverman, Ph.D.
